Sun Room – Step 2
October 13, 2008

Well, we are moving along toward completion of the sunroom.  I have installed insulation, but had a big problem when I tried to drink a beer with the full-face filter mask on.

Next came the bead-board, it was a pain but with a lot of help and advice from Granny Grumps I got it done.

Granny Grumps primed, then painted the bead board a color called Yellow Mist.  As you can see it looks darn good.

Next is the trim………………

A Camping We Will Go!

The September Trip

The September Trip

Well, next month’s bills are paid, our travel plans and reservations are made, the trailer (still got to name it) is ready, a through PM has been preformed on the truck and we are almost ready to go.  All that is left is for us to pack our clothes.

We plan to visit Lynn, Bill and Nancy Jackson, Robert and family, Mount Rushmore, Ken and family, and lots of points of interest along the way.  Since the truck only gets about 11 MPG when pilling the trailer, We also figure we will spend most of the kid’s inheritance along the way.  We will stick to US highways and state roads most of the way, just getting on interstates when we have to.  Hope to see more of the country that way.

Granny Grumps and I have been married a long time, but we figure that if we can stand a month in the trailer together, we will make it forever.

Homer Simpson and Ta Da!
July 14, 2008

I have been startled many times in my life, but this past week has been a doosie!

First, Saturday after Ken, Lisa and the herd has left for Denver we needed our quite time. That evening I decided to work in the shop and prepare my fishing rods and reels for my next fishing trip. All was peaceful and quite as I concentrated on my work.

Robert, Pam and the boys had sent me a talking birthday card and as normal I had stapled it to the shop wall. The tip of my rod moved the card and Homer Simpson said in what I considered a booming voice “You know when I was a boy”. WOW I almost jumped out of my skin. Took me a minute to recover and discover what had happened.

Then yesterday Evelyn and I were riding to Crestview Florida to pick up 6 windows for the new sunroom that I had seen on Craigslist. We were using my Tom Tom for directions and as we pasted a Good Sam’s Campground it suddenly said “TA DA” very loudly. Both GrannyGrumps and I jumped as I jerked into the left lane. Thankfully there wasn’t another car beside me.

We are getting too old for that kind of stuff

Well the Old Man is kissing a lot of frogs!

For forty two+ years I have been acquainted with Floyd’ passions. His latest one is with the cute little mopeds. He has already repaired the first one he brought home from the junk yard ( I mean car lot). It runs good. He is in the process of painting and prettying it up. We currently have one from little Gene that he is gonna try to get started for him, an electric schwinn that he brought from the junk yard/car lot and he has now broght home one to try to repair for someone/( he put an ad on Craigs list saying he would work on mopeds) This one is a scooter. I can tell it is love at first sight. (looks like piece of junk, but he has done lots with a lot less in the past) I have taken pictures and will post as soon as I figure out how.

Camping plans
November 15, 2007

We have wanted to go camping or traveling at least once a month for a while, so tonight we made our plans.  Camping this weeknd on Dauphin Island, Oak Alley next week, No  travel in December, Cruise in January, Callaway Gardens in Feburary,  Lake George fishing trip in March, Washington D.C. in April, and Wisconsin in May.  That should keep us busy for a while!

We have gotten so comfortable in the trailer (haven’t named it yet…………..any suggestions?), that it is like a second home.
